K, let's get this process overwith.
My blog engine won't let me embed the videos, which I know because I embedded them and they did not show. I will provide the links insted.
Here is a video of how to play the blues guitar shuffle. I found this one from Expert Village, but the site did not provide a direct link for embedding (I could have cut the vid from the script and pasted it in here, but that might have been a little harsh) so I searched the same vid from YouTube since it does provide the links for embedding.
"PageWise respects the intellectual property rights of others and requests that the people who use the Site do the same"
The video says free, but legally it seems that I broke the law again by embedding the video here (which I didn't). What a pity.
And here it is:

Expert Village is one of these sites that does not show CC licences in videos. It is basically stated that the site has no responsibility of the content that is provided. Other sites where openness aspect was not endorsed or was poorly instructed:
Sites that were instructed to be used in the assigment had instructions to select CC license. Scivee material was wholly licensed under CC 3.0.
YouTube: Here is something from Blues Duo from last fall. Let's see how I can take the shuffle down in the street:

And here we are again with subtitles:

I did not quite get the subtitle option at first, even though I watched the tutorial video. I got mixed up with the fact that there was Finnish speech that I decided to translate to English. So I ended up translating the Finnish parts to English, which made both language version identical and in English. I did not find any means to translate my faulty Finnish translation back to a real Finnish one?
In conclusion, I must say that video content is not that easy to work with. What is the right resolution or aspect ratio? What about frame rate? Which encoder should I use? Do you know in what format your camera records?
For the reasons of unifying content web sites endoce the video again, so there are usually several encoding processes which will degrade the quality. There are wide variety of codecs and software and new ones are being developed all the time. Standardization has failed with web video content (if there has ever been any) because of the tight copyright restrictions for example with mpeg4.
Free and open software that I have used tend to have this "lots of little knobs" stuff in them. One can tweak almost endlessly but the result usually doesn't get any better or ceases to play alltogether. It is not that much better situation with commercial software. I have not found a single software that does everything. Best way is to find a single program for a single purpose.
Phew.
In any case, keep spreading those vids! Even for fun. Or what do you think about this little guitar amp:

I did spend quite some time with this assigment, I believe it has been 6 hours now... I hope that others survived more easily...
